Talking to the agent

The five rules, the "instead of, ask like this" table, how to ask about Launchpad, and what to do when it goes wrong.

The result depends on how you ask. The more specific the request, the fewer adjustments later.

Start your own way

You don't need to write a super prompt or know AI terms. Explain what you want to build the way you'd explain it to a person. Then react to the first version and keep refining.

The five rules

  1. Ask for one block at a time. When you ask for the whole page at once, the agent gives you something generic.
  2. Say what cannot change. A request like "Keep the price and the colors" prevents changes you didn't ask for.
  3. Bring a reference along. Send a screenshot, a link or the text you already wrote, and the agent reads all of it.
  4. Make one request per message. With five requests in a single message, the agent does all of them halfway.
  5. Check the preview before moving on. Fixing one change is simpler than fixing five at once.

Instead of, ask like this

add the testimonialsafter the price section, create three testimonials with round photo, name and city, using these texts: [paste the texts]
I don't like it, redo itredo only the header and keep the rest of the page as it is

What the agent reads besides text

The agent reads logo, image, font, video, reference screenshot and the text you already wrote. If you already have a brand identity, send everything in the first message. That way, the project comes out with your style from the start.

The agent doesn't read PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint files over 5 MB. In that case, split the file or paste the text into the chat.

Ask about Launchpad

Ask the agent how Launchpad works: publishing, pricing, the preview, domains, your team. It reads the Launchpad docs, answers with what they say, and ends with the link to the page so you can read more. The agent answers without editing your project. To ask for help directly, type / in the chat and pick Help.

Example request:

how do I let my users try the app before they buy?

Rate the response

Below each response from the agent you'll find the Good response and Bad response buttons. A click tells Launchpad what worked and what didn't. After it, Tell us more opens a field where you explain in a sentence or two. Clicking the same button again removes your vote.

Every now and then, Launchpad asks a short question above the message field, like "How did the first version turn out?", and also when your project goes live. Answering is optional: close the question or keep chatting.

When it goes wrong

The agent changed something you didn't ask for. Repeat the request, saying in one line what must stay the same.

You fixed it twice and it's still wrong. Stop fixing and write a new request, now with what you learned from the attempts.

The page looks good and has none of your content. The agent fills in with example text when there's no content. Paste your real text, testimonials and prices.

You can't describe where to change. Click Select element, the pencil on the preview bar, pick the piece on the screen and ask for the change right there. Learn more in Preview.

The agent didn't reply and showed an error notice. Send your message again. If it fails again, click the copy icon on the right of the notice and send what it copied to support. The copied text tells support where the reply failed.

For ready requests by project type, see Prompt library.
