Publish

Go live

What happens when you publish, who can open the app, and how to take it down.

When you publish, your project gets its own address, which anyone can open. Before that, the project lives in the preview, which only you and the people in your organization can see.

Before publishing

Check these points:

  • Audience. It's clear who the app was created for.
  • Main action. The action you expect from the user is defined.
  • Texts. The texts have been reviewed, with no example text left. The agent fills in with example text when content is missing.
  • Brand identity. The brand identity is consistent, and the page isn't overloaded.
  • Functionality. The links, buttons, forms and features have been tested.
  • Mobile. On mobile, the app is readable, navigable and nothing is cut off.
  • Purchase. The path to purchase has been tested, when there is one.

Open the preview and follow the path a buyer would take. Whatever is wrong in the preview goes live as it is.

Publishing

Check the price before you confirm. Once published with a price, you can still change the price, but the app can't go back to free or switch the charge type.

  1. Click Publish. Check the name, the description and the price.
  2. Check the address. It comes out in the format project-name.hotmart.app, and you can edit it before confirming.
  3. Click Publish app. If the app is paid, the button is Publish product.
  4. Copy the link and share the QR code. Both show up on the "Your app is live" screen.

Your app goes live at the .hotmart.app address, with a security certificate. It works as soon as you publish, and you don't configure anything. Launchpad doesn't accept a domain of your own yet. Learn more in Domain.

Publish again with every change

What's live stays the same until you publish again. That way, you can change the project without breaking what's already selling.

Who can open it

  • Free. Anyone with the link can open the app. That's the case for sales pages, capture pages and sites.
  • Paid. Access follows the purchase at Hotmart. That's the case for the members area.

A paid app asks you to buy it too. To see the app as a buyer without buying, use the preview.

Anyone who asks for a refund loses access. The buyer's path is in Sell an app.

Take it down or delete it

Important: changing the app doesn't change your product at Hotmart. Taking a paid app off the air or deleting it doesn't stop sales, because the existing checkout may keep selling. If you also want to stop selling, pause the offer on Hotmart.

When the campaign ends, you can take the app offline with Take it off the air. The address stops answering, and the project and its files stay in Launchpad. If you publish again, the same address comes back.

Deleting can't be undone: once you delete it, you can't recover the project. To remove the project for good, use Delete project and type the project's name to confirm.
