Sell an app

How a paid app sells through Hotmart, the buyer's path, and where you and the buyer find the app.

When you publish an app with a price, Launchpad creates the product and the checkout at Hotmart. You don't create a product at Hotmart first, and you don't link a product that already exists. You set the price when you publish, in Go live.

The buyer's path

Buyers need a Hotmart account. The same address works to buy the app and to access the content afterwards. For example, Ana publishes a paid recipe app at minhasreceitas.hotmart.app.

  1. João opens the address. He isn't signed in yet, so he goes to the Hotmart login.
  2. João signs in with his Hotmart account. He hasn't bought it yet, so he goes to the product's sales page. If the product has no sales page, he goes straight to the Hotmart checkout.
  3. João buys. Once the purchase is approved, he goes back to minhasreceitas.hotmart.app and sees the content.
  4. João comes back another day. He opens the same address and signs in with his Hotmart account.

The product you already have at Hotmart

Launchpad doesn't link a product that already exists at Hotmart. The app is a new product, separate from the others you sell.

So someone who bought another product of yours doesn't get access to the app. Access comes only from buying the app's product.

Refund window

The refund window is how many days a buyer has to ask for their money back. You choose it when you publish, in Advanced settings, under Refund window.

  • Available windows. The list shows the windows Hotmart accepts for your account's country. In some countries, the 7-day window doesn't appear.
  • New app. The window starts at the shortest one on the list.
  • Paid app already published. The current window stays on the list and only changes when you pick another one and publish again.

Where to find the app

  • You. The project is in the project list, in the Launchpad sidebar, at hotmart.build. The app's product shows up at Hotmart, in My Products. To open the app at its published address, you also need to buy the product. To see the app as a buyer without buying, use the preview.
  • The buyer. The app opens at its address. The purchase also shows up at Hotmart, in My Purchases.

Taking the app off the air doesn't stop sales. To stop selling, pause the offer at Hotmart. Learn more in Go live.
